Admission to Undergraduate Studies
Admission to academic programs at AASTS is available to highly qualified male and female students from the UAE and abroad. All applicants must meet established minimum requirements to be considered for admission to study at the University.

Undergraduate Admissions Requirement
General Requirements
▪ The applicants must complete the application form and submit the following personal documents:
- A General Secondary School Certificate/ Transcript, or its equivalent attested by the Ministry of Education in the UAE, (An attested copy may be submitted);
- Copy of valid Emirati ID and passport for both the student and guardian;
- A copy of valid residence for non-local students;
- Birth certificate for non-local students and Family Book for local students;
- A valid English Language Proficiency certificate with a minimum scores of 1100 EMSAT or 5 IELTS or 500 TOEFL 61 in international TOEFL (IBT) or 173 (CBT);
- (4) Passport Size Photographs;
- National Service Certificate for local male students (exemption or postponement)
- Certificate of Good Conduct for both local and non-local students.
- The applicants should have a high school certificate(scientific section) or its equivalent.
The High School Certificate must be attested from the Ministry of Education in the home country from which the certificate was obtained, then attested from the Office of Foreign Affairs in their home country and/or the home country, the Embassy in UAE, then MOE- UAE.
- The minimum average overall grade of high school certificate should be more than 60%. The overall grade will be calculated after performing equivalency of the certificate in accordance to AASTMT regulations.
- The applicants must be medically and athletically fit
- The applicants should pass the admission interview and the sports and medical tests
- If the applicant did not achieve the required score of English proficiency, the student will be required to take a preparatory course, in English in remedial semester and pass the EMAST with a minimum score of 1100.
- Students should have completed 12 years of school education before obtaining the High School Certificate and should be able to provide the required documents of proof
Requirements for Different Certificates:
1. UAE High School Certificate (Advanced Stream/General Stream/Secondary Technical School (STS) /Applied Technology (ATHS)
- Students holding an Advanced Stream High School Certificate with a minimum grade of 60% are admitted directly;
- Students holding a General Stream High School Certificate with minimum grade 60% will have a conditional admission the Maritime Transport Technology and Marine Engineering Technology programs and will be enrolled in a remedial semester of preparation course in scientific subjects
- Students holding Secondary Technical School certificates (suitable specialty) are accepted only in the Marine Engineering Technology program and will be admitted to a remedial semester of preparation course in scientific subjects Students holding Applied Technology School Certificates (suitable specialty) are admitted only to Marine Engineering Technology program
2. Students Holding the American Certificate (High School Diploma)
- Students should have completed 12 years of school education before obtaining the High School Certificate and should be able to provide the required documents of proof
- Students should have passed 8 subjects including the mandatory required subjects of English, Math, Physics, and Chemistry;
- The student can complete the other four subjects from grade 10, 11, 12 conditionally that the student cannot take more than 2 subjects from grade 10 and not less than 4 subjects from grade 12;
- Sat 1 with minimum score 800, with minimum 450 in Math for foreign student;
- Sat 2 with minimum score 900;
- For Sat 2 the student should have passed 2 subjects:
- One of them Math or Biology and the other one Chemistry or Physics.
- Or the student can take the two subjects, Math and Biology;
- If the student did not take math in sat 2, he must have passed Biology in the mandatory required subjects;
- If the student takes Math and Biology in Sat 2 he is not obligated to take Biology in the mandatory required subjects.
3. Student Holding the British Certificate (IGCSE, GCSE)
- Students should have completed 12 years of school education before obtaining the High School Certificate and should be able to provide the required documents of proof
- 8 O-level subjects with minimum grade "C";
- One AS or A level Math or Biology with minimum grade D from grade 10, 11, 12;
- If the AS is Math; the mandatory subjects are Math, English, Physics, Chemistry and the other 4 subjects from grade 10, 11, 12;
- If the AS is Biology; the mandatory subject is Math, English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
4. Student holding the Canadian Diploma
- Students should have completed 12 years of school education before obtaining the High School Certificate and should be able to provide the required documents of proof
- Students should have completed 8 subjects with a minimum of 5 subjects from grade 12 and 3 subjects from grade 11;
- The student must take the mandatory subjects English, math, physics and chemistry;
- The student must take math or biology in grade 12 and must have passed take these subjects in grade 11.
5. Students Holding the Australian High School Certificate
- The same rules as the British certificate apply
6. Students Holding the French BAC
- Students should have completed 12 years of school education before obtaining the High School Certificate and should be able to provide the required documents of proof
- 7 subjects are required;
- The mandatory subjects are English, French, Math, Physics, and Chemistry;
- The minimum grade is 10/20.
7. Students Holding the International Bachelor (IB)
- Students should have completed 12 years of school education before obtaining the High School Certificate and should be able to provide the required documents of proof
- Students should have completed six subjects, three of the six subjects must be high level: two of the three subjects must be (Math and physics) or (biology and chemistry)
- English subject is mandatory
- The student must present the extended essay and study the theory of knowledge
- Achieve a Minimum score 24
Admission Decision
- The student will be informed of admission decision personally or by email
- Admission deadline is five days prior to class starts
